Highpine Camp & Cabins

Tent sites, RV hookups and log cabins on the Salmon River, ten minutes from the Sawtooths.

A clear mountain lake with jagged peaks behind it

About the camp

Right on the river, close to everything

Hot showers, a camp store and a fire ring at every site.

Mae and Russ Pettibone bought Highpine in 2009 and still rake every site themselves. You're a walk from the river, a short drive from four mountain lakes, and right under some of the darkest skies in the country.

Good to know

Questions before you come

The short answers. Call the camp store for the long ones.

Do I need to book ahead?

For July and August, yes. Weekends fill by spring. Midweek in June and September you can usually call the morning of.

Is there room for big rigs?

Our pull-through sites fit rigs up to 42 feet. Tell us your length when you book and we'll pick a level one.

Can I bring my dog?

Of course. Keep them on a leash in camp and pick up after them. There's a dog rinse station by the showers.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check in after 2 and check out by 11. Late arrival? Your site tag will be on the board at the gate.

Are campfires allowed?

In the fire rings, unless there's a fire ban. We post it at the gate and on our Facebook page.

Is there cell service?

It's spotty. There's free wifi on the camp store porch from 8 to 8.
